We've all been through a lot these past couple of years and if you're like me, it's led to a lot of self reflection. Beyond making pretty designs that are balanced, fun to look at and wear, I'm always asking myself, what am I trying to express in this work?
Bottom line: life is short with lots of uncertainty and despite that, lately I find myself choosing to focus more on joy, gratitude, beauty in nature, and less on bad news in politics. More gratitude, more creativity and appreciation of the amazing world we live in. Finding balance, love of patterns in nature, joyful expression—this is what I'm trying to express in my work.
Over the last several months I've been developing a bunch of new one-of-a-kind pieces. Through this process of creativity and contemplation I am gaining more skills and more answers. I love working in a spirit of spontaneity and abstractly with shape, pattern, color—the compositions aim to express balance and joy.
