Poolside with my Groove jewelry collection in blue

Updated: Apr 25, 2022

This week I'm taking care of my neighbor's cat and house and they have a pool (a dip in the pool is a mini vacation for me, especially with the heat this week!) and thought I'd show a few examples of my Groove collection poolside.

To know my work is to know that much of my inspiration comes from the beauty in abstract patterns, especially water patterns and I'm inspired to recreate them using polymer clay. I discovered how to construct the pool water pattern in polymer about a year ago and it's become one of my favorites, especially in blue, though I do make it in other colors.

Here's a picture of a few of these patterns I've created in polymer blocks (also called canes). The darker blue at the top is called Mokume Gane (a Japanese term for an organic pattern originally formed using layers of different colored metals). I love the surprises I get from using it — every slice from the cane is unique, making the pieces one of a kind.

I hope you're having fun this summer and staying cool and stylish -- the Groove collection in blue is an especially great look this time of year!

Best wishes to you and yours,

Nancy
